Casa do Calhau Grande is composed of six independent houses: Tenda, Levada, Júnior, Palheiro, Sapateiro and Calhau.
The houses are at a high level of the small farm, offering an excellent view of the sea.
Lounge around the 9 metre swimming pool, surrounded by manicured gardens and banana plants, 300 metres above sea level.

Area information
Casa do Calhau Grande is located on the west side of the island of Madeira, in the town of Calheta, in the village of Arco da Calheta. The village was named because of the configuration of the surrounding mountains and their proximity to the village of Calheta. The village is about 30 km from Funchal.
It has a 180º view over the Atlantic and is excellently located, close to the sea. You will be 7 minutes from Calheta Beach and 15 minutes from Rabaçal, where you can easily explore the maritime coast, the levadas, the mountains and the Laurissilva forests. Travel through scenic passages by car, motorbike, bicycle or on foot.
There is surfing at Jardim do Mar (approximately 15 minutes away), sailing in Calheta (approximately 5 minutes away), paragliding in Arco da Calheta (approximately 5 minutes away) and diving at various locations.

By Car (from the airport):
- Leaving the airport, take the express road, passing Funchal towards Arco da Calheta.
- In Arco da Calheta, take the first exit on the first roundabout.
- This will bring you to a second roundabout, where you take the second exit, towards Ledo.
- At the crossroad, turn left.
- On your right-hand side should Bar Massapez.
- 200 meters after the bar, you will find a street that goes up to Casa do Calhau Grande.
